Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the US. She has worked as media critic since. Feminist Frequency was launched in 2009 by Sarkeesian. an undergraduate student at York University who had been involved in topics concerning gender and feminism since a considerable period of time. Someone who hoped to launch a web-series that would examine the gender representation of video games was targeted in an online campaign. But the assault did be a deterrent, but it was a boost to her determination as a feminist critic of media. She is a recipient of numerous awards for her contribution to feminism. Anita Sarkeesian, a media critic, has been awarded several awards and founded Feminist Frequency, an educational organization that focuses on the way women are depicted in media narratives.
